Project Description

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park (KLGO) in Skagway, Alaska is deeply committed to accessibility. As part of that effort the visitor center and Mascot Saloon offer an audio described tour. As part of the Formations, Inc. team, Q Media developed, wrote and produced audio description of the site’s new exhibits. In addition, under a separate contract, QM provided audio description for many of the KLGO website’s educational and interpretive videos.

The AD tour includes up to three hours of layered audio tour content across multiple rooms and buildings. The auto-triggered tour (via IR) includes navigation and wayfinding and a layered approach to exhibit content and panel text. Under a separate contract, QM has written, recorded, and edited audio description of 15+ short videos, totally 45+ minutes of material, available on the Park’s website.

“We have worked with Q Media on a multitude of projects over the years. They are great to work with. They are great with the client! They are responsive and they handle everything. Can’t recommend them enough.”

- Phil Buettner, General Manager, Formations, Inc.
