Q Media is committed to helping ALL organizations that have an important message to deliver use audio or video to their highest ability. We have developed several targeted workshops and seminars that help ensure organizations achieve their goals.
"15 Tips for Creating OUTSTANDING Audio and Video Programs"
An OUTSTANDING audio or video production is one that delivers your message and achieves your goals within your budget. "15 Tips for Creating Outstanding Audio and Video Programs" is a 2 hour seminar that identifies the most common errors and obstacles organizations face as they attempt to incorporate the power of this media into their communications plans. Regardless of your objective (e.g. developing a video to enhance your fundraising efforts, an audio guide to enhance your visitors understanding of your message, or a historical documentary to preserve your organization's past) this seminar will benefit and inspire you.
"Scene and Heard: Scriptwriting 101"
Bad scripts are often produced by good writers. The trouble is that the writers in question are not adept at writing words to be heard but rather they write text to be read. Academics, print journalist, novelists, short-story writers, copywriters, and business people have been educated through time and experience to write in styles that achieve their "industry's" goals. Writing that may be considered excellent in it's own context when translated to audio and video often comes across as stiff, stilted and above all, boring. Worse than not getting your message across it can become a stumbling block that your organization must overcome in order to effectively reach your audience.
Scene and Heard teaches organizations the fundamentals that they must know in order to create a solid foundation for any project.

Putting It Together: How to produce audio and video on-time, on-budget, and on-target.
Producing an audio or video project can be compared to rolling a boulder: simple but not easy. A producer knows who needs what and when, how much it cost, who's responsible for getting it there, what to do if it doesn't show up. They can spot a bargain and a rip-off. They usually know what they can delegate and when only they can pick up the phone and get it done. A producer understands how each piece of the puzzle relates to every other piece. Part visionary, part politician, part accountant, part therapist. You don't have to be a great scriptwriter, but you must be able to recognize a great script (or a lousy one.) It's not necessary to be able to operate the camera and boom, but you must understand why the camera guy and the sound guy shouldn't be the same guy. If you're going to be the Executive Producer and hire a production company you must be able to recognize when a company has
its act together and when it's just putting on a good show (with your time and money!).
Putting It Together is an invaluable workshop for any organization taking on the responsibility of producing (or supervising the production) of their audio/video message.
