The Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park is one of the premier Japanese Gardens in the United States. A San Francisco landmark hailing back to the 19 th century, it has an amazing story and is a testament to the stewardship of its caretakers throughout the years. Often referred to as a “uniquely American landscape of Japanese design” it is impossible to understand the significance of this garden without understanding the history of the garden, the city, and our nation. |

“Stories from the Journey” Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland’s African History and Culture. Baltimore, Maryland |

The Lewis Museum has a vast collection of oral histories in its collection. Q Media created a script that brought the stories of these individuals into the exhibits and helped “make real” their experiences for future generations.
The tour involves narration that helps set the context for the speaker, and then the individual’s story is allowed to unfold in its entirety. The result is an audio tour that emphasizes that the journey of African American’s “didn’t begin on a slave ship nor did it end on a distant shore.” The history is richer and older; and the journey and the stories that carry it, are far from over.

“Pines Walkway” Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden. Delray Beach, Florida
Roji-en: the Garden of the Drops of Dew
Support, do not interfere, with the garden's purpose as a place of contemplation and healing. Q Media chose to use only "organic" and appropriate sound f/x and music. Japanese musicians, on period appropriate instruments, play all musical tracks. Sound f/x (birds, wind, bamboo, etc.) were all recorded on site and later edited into the production with a light touch in order to enhance the listener's sensory experience, not to "replace it with bells and whistles."

“Hemingway in Cuba” Key West Art and Historical Society. Key West, Florida |

The KWAHS developed the Hemingway-Evans exhibition as an opportunity to explore and celebrate a brief chapter in the lives of two great American Artists: a literary giant and a pioneer of documentary photography.
Our challenge is to lead the visitor to understand the time and context of their encounter and the mysterious effect they apparently had on each other's work.Period music and light f/x transport the listener. Combined with the artifacts on display, the effect is an emotional journey into the lives of the artists. The chronological events are placed in context and the listener is provided an opportunity to draw their own conclusions.

Address complex, adult subject matter, such as slavery in the United States, without condescending to the intelligence of children or minimalizing the importance of the artist's statementQ Media's director and scriptwriter allow the young actors to experience the work as the tour listener would. The "Grandmother" does not dictate "appropriate" responses, but rather follows the children through their discovery, offering quiet strength as they discover a haunting and emotional work of art.
