Many organizations have taken take great pains to collect oral histories of their subjects throughout the years. Whether they are local interest stories that document a place or event to recordings of famous people associated with their facility if these recordings are still being stored in their original analog tape format they are at risk of being lost--lost as these tapes age or are inadvertently exposed to the elements of heat, dust and humidity over time. Here at Q Media we offer a digitizing service where we preserve your oral histories before they are gone for future generations.

Our procedure is to first digitize your collection with a one-pass recording technique--we only play the tape once to import its contents into the digital realm. After the tape has been digitized we then have the content professionally transcribed and then the recording's content is also logged to a timeline for quick researcher reference. After this process is completed we then construct binders that include all the data--in digital and printed form--and archive the material on 300-year rated Delkin Gold CD-Rs. The completed project binder entries contain both a DATA CD-ROM disc that includes all the digital data--.wav, .doc and .xls files-- and an Audio CD of the original recording.

So please don't wait until it's too late and contact Q Media if you are in need of preserving your priceless oral histories before they may be lost for all time.
